Everything tourism businesses need to know about joining TryBookAfrica, onboarding, verification, listings, bookings and payments.

These FAQs are provided for general information. The applicable TryBookAfrica Terms & Conditions, booking-specific terms and other published policies govern the relevant transaction.

Joining TryBookAfrica

Who can become a Supplier?

Eligible independent tourism businesses, operators, establishments and service providers may apply to list Products, subject to applicable requirements.

What types of businesses can list?

Potential Suppliers may include hotels, safari/game lodges, guest houses, B&Bs, resorts, holiday homes, villas, hostels/backpackers, tour operators, safari operators, activity providers, restaurants, transport providers, local guides and other tourism businesses.

How do I register my business?

Select “I WANT TO LIST MY BUSINESS” and follow the supplier registration and onboarding process.

What happens during onboarding?

The process may include business details, Product details, policies and amenities, pricing and payment information, contact and Account details, verification and approval before a listing goes live.

Listing & verification

What information must I provide?

Suppliers are responsible for accurate and current business and Product information, including descriptions, images, location, availability, pricing, amenities, policies, cancellation conditions, contact details and required verification information.

Can I update my listing?

Where supplier-management functionality is available, Suppliers should promptly update prices, availability, amenities, policies and contact details when they change.

What does verification mean?

TryBookAfrica may verify Suppliers as part of its onboarding and platform processes. Verification does not automatically guarantee fulfilment, quality, safety or the outcome of every booking.

Can TryBookAfrica remove or suspend my listing?

TryBookAfrica may restrict, suspend or remove listings or Supplier Accounts where permitted by the applicable terms, including inaccurate information, prohibited conduct, fraud, non-compliance or safety concerns.

Bookings & payments

Can Travellers book my Products through TryBookAfrica?

Where booking functionality is enabled, Travellers may be able to make Bookings through the Platform. The applicable Supplier Agreement, booking terms and payment arrangements govern the transaction.

How do Suppliers get paid?

Payment and settlement arrangements depend on the applicable Supplier Agreement and payment structure. Commissions, transaction charges, taxes, refunds, adjustments or other amounts may apply.

What happens when a Traveller cancels?

The applicable Product-specific cancellation and refund rules determine the commercial outcome, subject to applicable law and the relevant Supplier Agreement.

What if I cannot fulfil a Booking?

Notify TryBookAfrica promptly and follow applicable Supplier procedures. Supplier cancellation, failure and substitution are addressed in the applicable contractual terms.

Supplier responsibilities

Who is responsible for my Product?

The Supplier remains responsible for the quality, safety, availability, description and fulfilment of its Product, subject to applicable law and the contractual framework.

What rules must Suppliers follow?

Suppliers must comply with applicable law, licensing requirements, safety obligations, truthful listing requirements and their contractual obligations.

How should I handle Traveller information?

Suppliers may receive personal information necessary for a Booking or service. Such information must be handled lawfully and securely in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements and applicable Supplier/data-processing terms.
