Cancellation & Refund Policy
1. Purpose
This Policy explains how cancellation, amendment, no-show, Supplier cancellation and refunds are handled on TryBookAfrica. Product-specific rules shown before Booking take precedence to the extent they lawfully and clearly modify this Policy.
2. Cancellation terms displayed before Booking
Before payment or final confirmation, TryBookAfrica will seek to display the applicable cancellation/no-show conditions supplied by the Supplier or determined by the applicable booking product. Travellers should review those terms before completing the transaction.
3. Common cancellation categories
Free cancellation until a stated deadline, after which a fee may apply.
Partially refundable booking, with a defined non-refundable component.
Non-refundable booking, subject to mandatory statutory rights.
Request-based cancellation or amendment where Supplier approval is required.
Cancellation caused by Supplier non-availability or material service failure.
4. Refund processing
Where a refund is due, the refund route will normally be the original payment method or another lawful method agreed with the Traveller. Processing times may depend on the payment provider, bank and Supplier funding. TryBookAfrica is not required to advance a Supplier-funded refund unless expressly agreed or required by law.
5. Supplier cancellations
If a Supplier cancels a confirmed Booking or cannot provide the booked Product, TryBookAfrica may facilitate a refund, alternative or rescheduling option as appropriate. The available remedy will depend on the booking contract, payment architecture and applicable law.
6. No-show and late arrival
A no-show or late arrival may trigger the Supplier's applicable policy. Travellers should notify the Supplier or TryBookAfrica as soon as possible if they expect to arrive late or cannot travel.
7. Amendments
Date, passenger, room, vehicle or itinerary changes may be subject to availability, fare differences, administrative fees and Supplier approval. A change request does not take effect until confirmed.
8. Statutory consumer rights
Nothing in this Policy removes or limits mandatory cooling-off, cancellation, refund, replacement, repair, rejection, unfair-contract or other consumer rights that apply in the relevant jurisdiction.
9. Chargebacks and payment disputes
A Traveller should ordinarily contact TryBookAfrica first so that the transaction can be investigated. This does not restrict any right the Traveller has to use a card-scheme chargeback process or statutory remedy.
10. Special categories
Flights, car rentals, insurance, visas, transport, event tickets, attraction admissions and packages may be subject to sector-specific terms. Those terms will be disclosed before Booking and may include strict deadlines or non-refundable amounts.
11. Evidence and records
TryBookAfrica may retain booking records, cancellation requests, messages, payment records and supporting documents as necessary for customer support, legal compliance, dispute resolution and accounting, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable retention rules.
