Verified Supplier Policy
1. Purpose
The TryBookAfrica Verified Supplier initiative is intended to improve transparency and trust by checking specified supplier information. Verification is a process, not a guarantee of every future service outcome.
2. What may be checked
Legal/business identity.
Business registration or licence where applicable.
Tourism registration or operating licence where applicable.
Tax information where legally and commercially appropriate.
Insurance or safety documentation where relevant to the category.
Official website, public business profile or other credible source.
Identity/authority of the person onboarding the business.
3. Category and jurisdiction-specific requirements
Requirements are determined by Supplier category, jurisdiction, risk level and applicable legal or commercial requirements. A safari operator, hotel, transport provider and restaurant will not necessarily be asked for identical evidence.
4. Verification status
Pending Verification - information submitted and under review.
Verified Supplier - specified verification checks completed based on the current record.
Verification Suspended / Under Review - verification is being rechecked or a material issue is under investigation.
Unverified / Removed - the Supplier does not currently meet the publication criteria.
5. No endorsement or guarantee
A verification badge does not guarantee future availability, safety, service quality, solvency, legal compliance after the verification date, or successful fulfilment of every Booking. Travellers should still review Product and Supplier terms.
6. Re-verification and withdrawal
TryBookAfrica may re-check Suppliers periodically or after material changes, complaints, incidents, regulatory concerns or information updates. Verification may be suspended or withdrawn where the criteria are no longer met.
7. False information
Providing materially false, misleading or forged information may lead to suspension, removal, recovery of losses and reporting to relevant authorities where legally required.
8. Traveller’s reports regarding supplier verification
Travellers who become aware of information that may be inaccurate, misleading, outdated or incomplete in relation to a Supplier’s verification status, credentials, licences, accreditation or Verified African Tourism badge may report the matter to TryBookAfrica.
Reports may be submitted by:
Emailing info@trybookafrica.com with the subject line “Supplier Verification Report”;
Using the reporting or customer-support functionality available on the TryBookAfrica Platform, where provided; or
Contacting TryBookAfrica through its published customer-support channels.
Where reasonably possible, the report should include the Supplier’s name, listing or booking reference (if applicable), a description of the concern and any supporting information or evidence.
TryBookAfrica may assess the report, request further information, conduct appropriate checks and take proportionate action where warranted. Such action may include correcting or updating listing information, requesting additional documentation, suspending or removing a verification badge, restricting a listing or referring the matter to a relevant authority where appropriate.
TryBookAfrica will handle reports in accordance with its applicable policies and legal obligations. Submission of a report does not guarantee a particular outcome, and TryBookAfrica’s verification status or badge should not be interpreted as a guarantee of a Supplier’s services, conduct or ongoing compliance.
