Payment Terms
1. Payment architecture
TryBookAfrica may support payment collection through an approved payment service provider, direct Supplier collection, or another authorised arrangement. The checkout page will state, where applicable, who collects payment, the payment currency, due date, fees, taxes and relevant refund route.
2. Authorisation and confirmation
A payment authorisation does not automatically mean that a Booking is confirmed. Confirmation depends on the booking flow and Supplier acceptance requirements.
3. Payment providers
Payment details may be processed directly by third-party payment providers. TryBookAfrica should minimise storage of full card data and rely on tokenisation or equivalent approved payment architecture where available. Payment-provider terms and card-network rules may also apply.
4. Currency and foreign exchange
TryBookAfrica may display or accept prices in local or other supported currencies. Exchange rates may change and banks or payment providers may impose conversion or international transaction fees. Any such fees that TryBookAfrica controls will be disclosed where required.
5. Supplier settlement
Supplier settlement may be reduced by agreed commission, payment fees, refunds, chargebacks, taxes or other contractual deductions. Timing depends on the applicable commercial schedule and reconciliation status.
6. Refunds
Refunds follow the Cancellation & Refund Policy and the applicable Booking terms. Payment-provider processing can affect the time before funds appear in the customer account.
7. Chargebacks, reversals and fraud
TryBookAfrica may investigate suspected fraud, duplicate payments, chargebacks or reversals and may place a temporary hold on affected funds where reasonably necessary and lawful.
8. Tax
Taxes may include VAT/GST, tourism levies, local taxes, withholding taxes or other mandatory charges. Responsibility for tax collection and remittance depends on the transaction structure and local law.
9. Compliance
Payment operations will be subject to applicable payment-services, consumer-protection, anti-money-laundering, sanctions, foreign-exchange and tax requirements. The final payment architecture must be approved before commercial launch.
